Prettiest Fabrics: Country Rose

We are about to talk about my most favorite fabric collection yet! Vanessa with Lella Boutique just released a new collection called Country Rose and I can’t get enough of these fabrics. She has a certain style to her that makes it easy for me to recognize one of her collections without knowing it’s hers beforehand. I can usually tell based off of the flowers and color choices. Now let’s dive in to what makes this collection so amazing!

Colors

Look at all those amazing colors! They remind me of a past collection Vanessa did called Love Note and would look amazing if they mixed together. I actually feel like this collection is even better because we have more color options. Not everyone loves using black in a quilt, but I find it adds more interest and helps other colors stand out even more if used well.

Backgrounds

You know I’m going to talk about background fabrics, right? Of course I am! There are three different prints in here that I believe would make amazing backgrounds. Even that written cursive print is light enough to use in that way. I’m typically not a fan of solids and was so happy to see a white on white dot that is simple, but work’s perfect for me!

Binding

There are two prints in here that would look amazing as binding options and they come in all the colors. I am going to have the hardest time choosing! Of course I am going to pick out the gingham as a binding option, but look at that other flower/leafy print in the picture below. How stunning! I may have to choose one of those to mix it up!

Borders and Backings

Remember how I said I can usually spot a Lella Boutique fabric collection without knowing what it is first? You are about to find out why! These flowers she puts in her collections are such a trademark for her. Yes, there are a lot of flowers in the quilting world, but Vanessa’s flowers have a unique look that she sticks to and it’s rather smart. These group of prints would look amazing in borders and backings and they are the biggest scale in her collection. I think my favorite ones are the colors green and blue!

Dots and Text Prints

You see those dot prints in there? Quilters love a good dot print! She also added some small flower prints in multiple colors. Both of these would work amazing in quilt blocks that require small pieces. Last reason why I like this collection would be the cursive text. How pretty that is! Be careful when working with this print because the words make it a directional fabric, but I am so ready to put it into a Sewcialites block.

You read that right! This is the fabric collection I will be using for Sewcialites! So check back in a few days to see how I use this fabric in Week 1 of Sewcialites! I am so ready to prep my fabric and get to sewing. Let me know in the comments below what you think of this collection. See you next week!
