Welcome!

Sewing to me is what I imagine heaven being like. Yup, you read that right!

Just imagine being surround by all the fabric you could possibly want, your favorite sewing machines on and ready to go, and endless patterns to try and modify in your own way. Now, add one more thing: all the time in the world to sew everything you could possibly want. Just. Perfect.

When I found sewing I had no idea it would turn into an obsession. I was just a really stressed out baby nurse needing a hobby to get my mind off of work. I started out making needlepoint stockings, tried out cross stitching, found an addiction for Bucilla felt applique sewing, and finally found my passion in quilting.

My first quilt. Anyone recognize it from when Bluprint was a thing?

During this time of growth my husband and I adopted our first puppy and named him Little Bear. I’ll be honest with you – he was a hard puppy. He has all the energy you could possibly imagine in a doodle and more! Add problem solving skills and speed to this dog and you can see why we had a hard time in the beginning. He is now three years old, trained (thank god), and probably the most loyal dog I’ve ever had in my life. After some time we decided it was a good idea to add one more puppy to the family. Good thing, too, because Little Bear definitely needed a friend! Funny enough, Peekaboo was the easiest puppy I have ever raised and his coat reminds me of a caramel macchiato. He is now one year old and has the sweetest demeanor. These two have been my sewing buddies through this journey and never fail to add some cuteness to my pictures.

I have now been a nurse for seven years and no longer feel the same stress that I had all those years ago, but I just can’t stop sewing! And now I find myself designing my own patterns and want to share them with all of you who are interested in my work.

So keep an eye out for future posts! I will be including tips and tricks on quilting, share with you my patterns, show my progress on current and past quilt alongs, and share lots and lots of photos with you!

Thank you all for checking out my blog and welcome to Stitch & Bear Time!
