Dress Up for Tea Time Quilt: Teapot Block

We’re going to do something a little different with this one. Over the next couple weeks I’ll be releasing block videos showing how I make each block in the quilt. Pressing instructions will also be released on the blog for those of you that want to press like I do. Now what this means is I won’t be showing the quilt on Youtube until all the blocks have been made, but if you are just dying to see what the whole quilt looks like then just head on over to the online pattern store! Stitch & Bear Designs will have the whole pattern available for purchase starting today and you can see the whole quilt there if you’re curious!

Now let’s get started making this adorable little block called Teapot.

-Turn to page 6!

In order to achieve a really flat block, I started by pressing all subunits open.

Then lay out the following subunits like this! This is how it should look like before sewing the rest together. Time to start pressing to the side. Be careful with matching up a few points. I’ll circle them so you know where you should definitely be placing pins.

And just like that you have a completed teapot block! Not too hard, right?

You’ll need to make a total of six teapots for the quilt. Look how beautiful they look in the layout! I used a variety of blue prints to add interest, but feel free to change up the colors to your liking!

I’ve had so much fun designing this new pattern and showing you all this cute little teapot block! Want a video demonstration? Check out Youtube to see me sew this block together! I’ll see you all next week for another block in the Dress Up for Tea Time Quilt Pattern. Happy Quilting!
