Peekaboo Day! What am I sewing?

It’s Peekaboo Day! Today is the day I let you take a “peek” into my sewing room and update you on some fun things I’m making. This post has a great mix of basic piecing, applique, and some beautiful fabrics that I hope you all enjoy looking at. I will also end this post with a little sneak peek at our next pattern coming out. Yay!

Peekaboo / Little Bear

Before we jump into it, I want to give a quick life update. As some of you know, Stitch & Bear was first named after my oldest dog named Little Bear. Poor boy had a hip issue the last couple weeks that took up a lot of our time and energy. After a couple of vet visits, some sleepless nights, and cuddles we are finally in a place where we feel he is almost 100% healed and back to his normal, crazy energetic, happy self. So now that we are getting past that stressful event, let the quilting continue!

This quilt along is hosted by Fat Quarter Shop and started all the way back in November of 2023. We are almost about half way through this sew along which is kind of crazy to think about, but I sure have a stack of blocks building…so it must be true! Take a look at how pretty these are!

Obviously I am a huge fan of Fat Quarter Shop and their sew alongs, but I also have lots of love for Shabby Fabrics, too! I am still keeping up with this adorable monthly wall hanging club (somehow) and have been hanging these little gems on my sew room door. Funny enough, my husband even mentioned that he’s enjoyed seeing my door decor change every month and really likes the gnomes. Who would have guessed! Shabby Fabrics has the cutest applique sew alongs. I’ve really enjoyed this one!

If you don’t have this book yet, get it! It is amazing! So many different blocks, so many different sizes, and several sampler layouts all in one book! I can only wonder how long it took them to put this together and make all those samples for pictures. They sure did a beautiful job and I am a very satisfied quilter. Plus, Fat Quarter Shop is hosting a sew along for the Piece and Quilt Sampler Quilt which is the beautiful quilt on the cover of the book. So of course I had to make this. I am using Evermore fabric collection by Sweetfire Road and have already gotten started! This will be a rather long sew along, going until February 2025, so you’ll see a few posts on this quilt throughout the year. If that isn’t enough for you to want this book, it also has this amazing, on-point, flag sampler quilt that I have to make one day! It is stunning and I have to show you a picture of it, too.

and when you put all these together they make…

How beautiful! I’m so happy with this fabric collection. I can’t wait to see this whole quilt put together! Now that I know what these fabrics look like in person, I need to finish purchasing what I need for borders, binding, and backing since this sew along will go for a while. Fabric collections this pretty tend to completely sell out so I must plan with that in mind. On the plus side, I get to do a little more online fabric shopping! Oh, and here is a picture of that one quilt in the book I am going crazy over.

Now for what I promised! A little peek into what is comping up next for Stitch & Bear. We have an adorable quilt pattern that will release soon and have some fun videos to show you on Youtube! So keep an eye out for new things coming to the store!

This turned into quite a meaty blog post, but I just had so much to show you! I hope you all enjoyed a look into my sewing room and will you all next week on Stitch & Bear Time. Happy Quilting!
