Do you have a furry baby that you love? Know someone who’s adopting a puppy soon? Well I have a treat for you! Today I launch a new pattern in my store called Lovable. This pet placemat includes hearts that are perfectly sized for those food and water bowls. Plus there is room for any water droplets that may be left behind.

This is a beginner friendly pattern that would make a quick and easy weekend project. It’s basic piecing and stitch-and-flip methods are all you need to put this cutie together! I also have a Youtube video coming out soon to show you how I sew these blocks together and even go over the stitch-and-flip method.

Want to make your pet placemats look like mine? I made this project in several different colorways using a couple different collections. Let me show you how they turned out! I will include the name of the fabric line under the picture.

This colorway also uses Effie’s Woods by Deb Strain, but in a lighter tone. I made this for my mom’s little poodle and the colors match her personality wonderfully. Once quilted the bone wasn’t as prominent in the pictures, but in person it looks amazing!

This project is the perfect size to practice some quilting at home! Screw on a walking foot or free motion quilting foot onto your machine and practice some designs. Plus if you make a little mistake I promise your furry friend won’t mind. They will love it regardless! This placemat comes to 24.5″ x 16.5″.

So grab those scraps and get to sewing! This pattern can be found in my online pattern store as a PDF download which allows you to start your project immediately.
Thank you so much for checking out my blog today and I hope you have a fun weekend of sewing! Happy quilting!
