Mystery Haunted Halloween Quilt Along Part 2

Four weeks sure goes by fast! This sew along is already complete and I am ready to show you all my Halloween quilt top! In case you missed my last post, this pattern is free from Fat Quarter Shop and they even sold kits. Grab yours before it’s too late!

Week 2

This was my first time making a cat quilt block. There was a lot of stitch-and-flip to it and it turned out much bigger than I expected. I can only imagine what an entire quilt full of these cute kitties would look like!

Week 3

This was my favorite week! I love making anything that combines haunted houses and sewing. This block had a lot of pieces to it though, so be warned! I also had to take out my flying geese skills to make the roof.

Week 4

This week it was time to put it all together! Also, I would recommend to you cut out your borders first to make sure you have enough fabric.

At this time I realized I made a small error in week 1. Since I pressed most of my seams to the side for the star blocks, those tiny blocks came out a little smaller than they should have. Doing this again I would have pressed all my seams open for the star blocks and probably wouldn’t have had any issues later with the construction! Luckily, I was able to make it work and the top turned out great!

I hope you joined along in the quilt along fun! It may seem too early for Halloween, but having my top done this early gives me a chance to quilt it before October. I can’t wait to hang it up this year! Happy quilting!
