Scary movies, candy, costumes, parties, the list goes on as to why I love Halloween! It’s also the holiday that says fall is here and more holidays are coming our way. As you can see, I could not resist dressing up Little Bear and Peekaboo this year. Though they weren’t thrilled with their costumes, like good little boys they stood still long enough for me to get a good photo. Then they decided it would be great fun to tear off each others costumes. Oh well, it was cute while it lasted!
This time of the holiday encourages me to decorate, but in order for me to do that I decided I needed to make a few Halloween decorations. If you’ve been following me, you know I sewed the Boo Crew quilt that is currently hanging in my home. In the past few years, I try to do at least one spooky project to have something new to display! So let me show you a couple of my favorites that are also hanging in my home.
The Haunted House by Bucilla
I don’t talk much about Bucilla kits on my blog, but I do love felt applique and continue to sew those kits throughout the year. One year I decided to make The Haunted House kit and it turned out so cute!

Lots of little pieces with ghosts, pumpkins, and bats. I even made a video about it on my YouTube channel a while ago.
I hang this wall hanging up every year and just stare at all the little details I have forgotten about. It inspires me to make more Bucilla Halloween kits!

What a Boo-tiful Night Table Runner
Now I know this is supposed to be a table runner, but I actually hang this next project on my wall every year! This was my second laser cut project ever and it is one of my favorites to look at.

I feel like there is story trying to burst out of this project with all the spooky houses and happy ghosts. Maybe one day I’ll write one for it.

I found this on Shabby Fabric’s website and bought the kit instantly. Of course by this point the kit will be out of stock, but I hope the company releases similar kits in the future. I would totally make something like this again.

You know what the best part is? The ghosts are glow in the dark! I show my husband every year because I think it’s the coolest thing ever. This project will be loved by me for years to come!

I also have lots and lots of other Halloween projects in my sewing room…I just haven’t put them together yet. I will get to them all one day!
Thanks for checking out my Halloween post today! Would you like to see more Bucilla posts in the future? Which Halloween projects have you made this year? Let me know if the comments below! Happy Halloween!
