Let’s talk about another fabric collection I just received in the mail.
Corey Yoder’s new fabric collection called Buttercup & Slate is now available in stores and it’s so beautiful!

This collection just screams spring with all the bright and happy yellows and greens. How could I not buy this??? Now I know winter is just around the corner, but let’s think ahead for a second. By the time you use this fabric in a quilt, it will probably be ready just in time for spring to display it on your bed or quilt rack. Plus, Corey Yoder just started a free sew along that uses this exact fabric collection (which turned into my perfect excuse for why I had to buy it!) Let’s open up this bundle and take a closer look.

One of the many reasons why I like this collection is that it has really good options for binding. Binding can add an extra special twist to your quilt and is the finishing touch that brings all the colors in the quilt together.

You may have already noticed that there are some really great background fabrics in the collection. I took a close up picture of the white on white so it’s easier to see the design that is used. I will be using this background fabric for the free sew along with Corey Yoder.

There is also this beautiful busy flower fabric that would be perfect for backings and borders. It comes in all colors in the collection, giving great variety, and the print is not too big. Why is this important? It means I can cut up this same fabric and use it in quilt blocks for piecing as well.

What do you think of this new fabric collection? Do you have any plans for it? Tell me in the comments below!
